Abstract

Introduction: The relationship between resilience and job attachment and marital satisfaction among married male officers was studied in this research.
Method: All married male officers working in a military organization in Ahvaz, Iran composed the statistical population from among whom 200 individuals were randomly selected using the cluster sampling method. The required data were collected using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (2003), the Edwards and Kirkpatrick Occupational Attachment Questionnaire (1994), and the Enrich Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire (1989). The research design is descriptive-correlational, and Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression were used to analyze the data.
Results: The results revealed that the resilience variable has a significantly positive correlation with marital satisfaction, and job attachment has a significantly negative correlation with marital satisfaction. Multivariate regression analysis showed that predictive variables (resilience and occupational attachment) are the best predictors of marital satisfaction among married male officers in the military organization under study.
Discussion: The results of this study indicated that promoting balanced resilience and job attachment results in an increase in the marital satisfaction of married male officers.
