The Impact of Life Skills Training (Problem Solving, Decision Making, Creative Thinking) on the Happiness of the Children of Martyrs and Sellf-Sacrificers in Tehran

Abstract

Introduction: In recent years, life skills and teaching them have gained importance among different classes. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of life skills training on the happiness of the children of martyrs and Self-Sacrificers in Tehran.
Method: The present study is a quasi-experimental research work. The statistical sample of the study included 15 subjects as control group and 15 others as experimental group. The subjects were selected on a voluntarily basis. The subjects in the experimental group participated in life skills training sessions. The interventions included eight 90-minute sessions of group training, and the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument.
Results: The results of the research indicated that life skills training has a positive effect on happiness, and the happiness of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group.
Discussion: It appears that receiving training in problem solving, decision making and creative thinking skills significantly affects happiness of individuals and helps them to solve the likely problems they face in life.
