Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of compassion therapy on guilt, perfectionism and schema of shame in children of police officer. This research was a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. For this purpose, from the statistical population of this study, which included adolescence aged 12-18 years, 30 adolescences were selected availably and then randomly divided into experimental and control groups. Kogler and Jones (1992), Hill Perfectionism (2004) and Young Schema (1998) questionnaires of guilt were administered to both groups and then the experimental group underwent compassion therapy based on Gilbert's treatment plan in 8 sessions of 90 minutes. At the end of the training course, in order to evaluate the effect of training, both experimental and control groups completed the research questionnaires again. The results were analyzed using univariate analysis of covariance (ANOVA) with SPSS22. The results of data analysis showed that compassion therapy on guilt, perfectionism and the schema of defect and shame was effective (p< 0/05). Therefore, the findings of this study can lead to positive consequences for the application of compassion therapy in reducing guilt, perfectionism and schema of imperfection and shame in adolescents.
