Abstract

Students' physical complaints, in addition to having several negative consequences, can have devastating effects as a result of some personality and emotional factors. The aim of this study was to structural equation modeling of the relationship between neuroticism and physical complaints based on mediation of anxiety sensitivity in witness and veteran students. The present study was a correlation model of structural equation modeling. The statistical population of the research was the students of Islamic Azad Universities in Tabriz and Marand, of which 258 people (134 boys and 124 girls) were selected as a statistical sample using the available sampling method, and they were asked the questionnaire of physical complaints (Gierek et al. 2014), neuroticism questionnaire (Costa and McCrae, 1992) and anxiety sensitivity questionnaire (Taylor and Cox, 1998) answered. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between neuroticism with anxiety sensitivity (0.38) and physical complaints (0.80) and anxiety sensitivity with physical complaints (0.19) (P <0.01). Also, the mediating role of anxiety sensitivity between the neuroticism pathway with physical complaints (0.076) was significant (P <0.01). According to the results, it is suggested that in academic centers, the presence of anxiety sensitivity and high level of neuroticism in the study of physical complaints in witness and veteran students.
