Abstract
Understanding the influence of social and cultural contexts provides a deeper insight into the factors contributing to the success of sports tourism events. This study aims to investigate the social and cultural factors influencing the military sports tourism events of CIZM in Iran. The present study is applied in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of methodology, conducted using the thematic analysis approach. The statistical population includes domestic and international sports tourists participating in CIZM competitions, as well as organizers and stakeholders involved in holding one of the events related to the CIZM World Championships in Iran in the field of Taekwondo. The sample consisted of 16 individuals purposefully selected for interviews. The results of the present study, obtained through descriptive, interpretive, and thematic coding, revealed a final model consisting of two main propositions. The social dimension included the components of social structure and context, education, research, organization, planning, and coordination. The cultural dimension encompassed the components of intercultural interactions, political factors, and cultural context. According to the findings, social and cultural factors are integral to the planning and implementation of CIZM military sports tourism events in Iran. Positive impacts such as intercultural exchange, political and cultural factors, social factors, education, research, organization, planning, and coordination can significantly enhance the value of these events for both hosts and visitors.
