مقدمه: در تأکید بر اهمیت ارتباط مادر و کودک، آنچه که برای سلامت روانی کودک، ضروری است، تجربۀ یک ارتباط گرم، صمیمی و مداوم با مادر یا جانشین دائم اوست. بسیاری از اشکال روان‌آزردگی‌ها و اختلال‌های شخصیت، حاصل محرومیت کودک از مراقبت مادرانه و یا عدم ثبات رابطۀ کودک با چهرۀ دلبستگی است. پژوهش حاضر برای بررسی رابطۀ سبک دلبستگی با افکار خودکشی سربازان در یک سازمان نظامی و تعیین نقش پیش‌بینی‌کنندگی آن در این زمینه انجام شد روش: این پژوهش از نوع توصیفی ـ همبستگی است که در سال 1394 روی 361 سرباز به‌روش نمونه‌گیری خوشه‌ای چندمرحله‌ای در شهر مشهد انجام شد. ابزار مورد پژوهش شامل مقیاس افکار خودکشی بک و پرسشنامۀ سبک دلبستگی بزرگسال کولینز رید بود. برای تحلیل داده‌های آماری از ضریب پیرسون و تحلیل رگرسیون چندگانه استفاده شده است. نتایج: یافته‌های این پژوهش حاکی از آن است که بیـن سبک دلبستـگـی دوسوگرا با افکار خودکشی، رابـطۀ مثبت معنادار و بـین سبک‌های دلبستگی ایمن و اجـتنابـی با افکار خودکشی، رابطۀ منفی معناداری وجود دارد. بحث: با توجه به یافته‌های این پژوهش، سبک دلبستگی ایمن و سبک دلبستگی اجتنابی قادرند به‌طور معناداری افکار خودکشی را پیش‌بینی کنند. هم‌چنین یافته‌های این پژوهش، تأیید‌کنندة نقش سبک دلبستگی ایمن در کاهش افکار خودکشی است.
