The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a positive psychotherapy protocol on depression, resilience, and psychological well-being among athlete soldiers. The research method was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design and control and experimental groups. The statistical population consisted of all athlete soldiers of the 77th Nasr Isfahani Army Division in Torbat Heydarieh in 2022 who exercised regularly at least three times a week. From among 38 volunteers, 30 participants were selected through simple random sampling and randomly assigned to experimental (15 participants) and control (15 participants) groups. Data collection tools included the Beck Depression Inventory (1988), the Connor and Davidson Resilience Scale (2003), and Ryff’s Psychological Well-being Scale (1980). The experimental group participated in group positive psychotherapy sessions for six weeks, while the control group received no intervention. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics through univariate analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) to compare group means. Before conducting the analysis, the assumptions of normality (using skewness and kurtosis indices) and homogeneity of variances (using Levene’s test) were examined and confirmed. The results indicated that the positive psychotherapy protocol significantly reduced depression and increased resilience and psychological well-being among athlete soldiers (P<0.05). Based on the findings, the use of positive psychotherapy can be considered an effective approach to improving mental health and psychological adjustment in athlete soldiers.
